basic football2_300OWENSBORO, Ky. (12/02/13) - Most would say the Owensboro Red Devils had a great football season; the team finished 10 - 4. Owensboro lost to Collins High School, which has the second best record in 4A at 12 - 2.

Owensboro lost four fumbles Friday afternoon in their 50 - 14 loss. The Devils were not able to stop Collin's running back Ryan Watkins, who had 160 yards on the ground.

"You cannot turn the ball over that many times against good football teams," Owensboro Head Football Coach Joe Prince said. "We put the ball on the ground nine times; it's tough to battle back from those mistakes."

Owensboro will have 16 seniors graduating this year, so Prince will have some holes to fill for next year. As long as Prince's players keep playing with aggression and pushing to be the most physical team on the field, figure on a battle every game with the Red Devils in 2014.
