owensboro events 713 300OWENSBORO, Ky. (3/3/14) — Registrations are now being accepted for the Owensboro Parks & Recreation Department’s Spring Day Camp.

The theme for this week is going to be Welcome to the Wild West! So bring your cowgirl/boy hats and boots and be ready to ride to the sunset.

  • Camp begins on Monday, April 7, and runs through Friday, April 11.
  • Party Ponies is coming to visit the camp Wednesday for pony rides and an educational class.

  • Hours of operation are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

  • Ages range from 5 to 13.

Breakfast and two snacks will be provided throughout the day at camp, but your child will need to bring a sack lunch each day. For the full week the camp will cost $65 per child and for three days or less of the camp it will cost $50 per child.

Registration deadline is March 28, so register as soon as possible.

Scholarships are available.

The Day Camp program is the only traditional day camp in the state of Kentucky with accreditation from the American Camp Association and is also the only accredited camp in Owensboro, according to park officials.
