Two Wildcats Selected Preseason All-SEC

uk wildcat glow 300LEXINGTON, KY (11/9/12) – In a vote by Southeastern Conference head coaches, Nerlens Noel and Alex Poythress were named to the preseason All-SEC teams as announced by the league office on Friday.
 
Noel was voted to the first team, while Poythress was named to the second team.
 
Noel averaged 16.0 points and 7.5 rebounds in UK’s two-game exhibition schedule while Poythress averaged 8.0 points and 4.5 rebounds while shooting .545 from the field.
 
The coaches’ preseason All-SEC first and second teams consist of a minimum of eight players on each squad, voted on by the SEC Head Men’s Basketball Coaches. No ties were broken and no predicted order of finish was made.
 
The Wildcats open the 2012-13 season Friday night taking on the Maryland Terrapins in the Barclay’s Center Classic. Tipoff is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. and the game will be televised live on ESPN.
