BOWLING GREEN, KY (11/28/12) – The WKU team of Adam Whitt and Chad True finished as national runner-up in the Collegiate Golf Alliance’s 2012 National Collegiate Golf Championship in Las Vegas.
In the faculty/staff division, Whitt and True tied for first place with a score of 70 but were defeated on a scorecard playoff by a team from the University of Southern Mississippi to finish as national runner-up.
WKU and Southern Misshave finished one-two in six of the last seven national championships with each school capturing three championships; WKU teams won the titles in 2011, 2010 and 2006.
In the alumni/community division, WKU’s team of Derek Schmitz and Steve White finished in fifth place with a score of 73.
In the student division, WKU’s team of Brendon Dodge and Taylor Richard finished in 21st with a score of 79.
This year’s national championships, held Nov. 9-11 at Paiute Golf Resort, featured 42 teams from across the United States.
