sportsmen fall 300KENTUCKY (1/3/13) – Hello again, folks. I hope you are having a blessed week. Long time no see! I haven’t talked to you since last year! I hope that everyone had a wonderful time bringing in the New Year. It seems like the older we get, the faster the years fly by.
With the New Year here, the waterfowl are starting to migrate more towards the south. This allows many waterfowl hunters an opportunity at some awesome wing shooting.
Last Friday I was told that about 1000 birds were harvested at Ballard County WMA. Also, on Saturday, Ballard County WMA was holding around 82,000 ducks.
Yesterday we were out riding through the countryside, looking over some hunting property in Caldwell County, and I spotted about 25 snow geese. I could have easily harvested a couple if I had been hunting.
My good friends Chris and Ron Oglesby have been getting a few birds. Chris received a nice trophy while hunting on New Year’s Day. He harvested a nice mallard drake with a band. Keep up the good work guys. I almost forgot to add that Chris has a new hunting partner this year. He received a new lab pup for Christmas, and she is doing great.
When I raised rabbit dogs, I always took them out when they were young as well. That can be the best training for them.
Well folks, until next week, God bless and be safe!
