God’s Great Outdoor Adventures – Waterfowl Season Comes to an End

sportsmen bashearlakeKENTUCKY (1/22/13) – Hello again folks! I hope you are having a blessed week. The 2012 hunting seasons are all winding down. We just finished the last day of archery season on Monday. Now, the waterfowl season is coming to an end as well. This weekend is your last chance to get out and hunt those ducks.

The 31st is the final day to hunt the Canadian Geese. I hope everyone was able to get out and fire a few rounds at the waterfowl this year. We never really got the birds much in this area this season. It makes it very frustrating and makes you want to throw your hands up and sell all your waterfowl equipment.

Let’s look back on your hunts. Yes, waterfowl hunting is a lot of work and can be very aggravating at times to go through all the hard work and not harvest a single bird. Nevertheless, you have to consider how much fun you and the guys had setting and talking about old times. There were also waterfowl hunts that were successful. Remember laughing at times when your buddy fell face down in the mud and couldn’t get up? That is what makes waterfowl hunting so enjoyable. It’s about sharing the memories and enjoying time spent with friends.

There is one more chance coming up for you to make some memories. The youth hunt is coming up in a week or two. Check the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife website for exact dates.

Most of the time we get new birds coming down, and it offers a great opportunity for local kids.

Until next time, God bless and be safe.
