Women’s Soccer Announces 2014 Summer Camp Information

uk soccerLEXINGTON, Ky. (6/2/14) — The University of Kentucky women’s soccer program announced its camp dates and details for its 2014 summer camps Sunday afternoon.

The summer camps for 2014 will feature team camps, elite camps, day camps and youth night camps across the summer months of June and July.

Targeted for kids who are 5-13 years old and running June 19-23, 23-27 and July 21-25, the Wildcat Day Camp brings together the idea of having fun and learning the different technical and tactical aspects of soccer. Day Camp is geared for the younger player looking to develop his or her skills at any level. The UK staff will help campers develop as a player in many aspects of the game, including passing and receiving, finishing, heading, small-sided and full-sided games. The full day camp will include added summer activities along with additional soccer training. The day camp can be a full-day camp from 8 a.m.– 4 p.m. or half day, from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.

From June 9-12 and 23-26, the Youth Night Camp is the best choice for your child if they are looking for more touches with the ball, one-on-one attention, work on the tactics of the game, improvement on in-game experience and refreshers on the fundamentals of the game. This camp will help youth players take the next step in their level of play and help them understand what it takes to play at the highest level. This camp is geared for more serious youth players. The youth camp runs from 6-8:30 p.m. at night and is intended for kids between the ages of 9-18 years old.

The 2014 Elite Camp running from July 18-20 is designed for the student-athlete who wants to pursue their soccer career after high school. The Elite Program is one of UK’s most advanced, challenging, and competitive training programs. The camp will also cover areas such as NCAA academic requirements, strength and conditioning program for the advanced player, and how the recruiting process works. Each camper will receive a camp t-shirt and a written evaluation.

July 10-13 will serve as the week of the 2014 summer Team Camp. Teams are housed together, train together and compete in UK’s camp league which features matches every night. This week falls outside the KHSAA dead period with each camper will receiving a Nike soccer ball, camp t-shirt and a written evaluation.
