Anhydrous Theft Suspect Located and Arrested

barber arrestHOPKINS COUNTY, KY (12/21/11)—At approximately 2:45pm on Wednesday, December 21st, a tip given to the Madisonville Police Department (MPD), which was then relayed to members of the Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 2, led to the arrest of two area residents - one of which was linked to the theft of anhydrous ammonia.

As was initially reported by the KSP, three local citizens were directly connected to the felony-level theft of anhydrous ammonia from a Madisonville farm property adjecent to Island Ford Road.

In most cases, the chemical is used in the illegal manufacturing of methamphetamine.

While two of the suspects—Jason T. Camplin, 21, of St. Charles and Blake D. Caraway, 24, of Madisonville—were located and charged on several counts, KSP Troopers Bob Winters and Joe Bartolotti reported that one suspect, Bobby Ray Barber, 21, of Madisonville, KY (pictured above) had fled the scene. Barber was wanted for burglary/theft charges as well as one count of vehicle theft that was issued by the Hopkins County Sheriff’s office. After entering the home in search of the suspect, KSP Troopers located Barber hiding under a small bed. In addition to arresting Barber on a total of nine counts both related and unrelated to the incident that occurred last week, KSP Troopers also arrested Suttle for Hindering Apprehension in the 2nd Degree.

At this time, both Barber and Suttle are lodged in the Hopkins County Jail.
