Lexington Weekly Traffic Report

lane closures and restrictions 300LEXINGTON, Ky. (4/29/13)— SPECIAL NOTES: The state has closed sections of Georgetown Street and Fourth Street through May 1 for continued construction of the Newtown Pike BCTC campus project. The closure will affect:
• Georgetown Street from Booker Street to Newtown Pike
• Fourth Street from Henry Street to Newtown Pike.

Traffic on Georgetown Street can follow a signed detour that follows Georgetown Road to New Circle Road to Newtown Pike. Traffic on Fourth Street can use Jefferson Street to Main Street to Newtown Pike.
 
Traffic could be congested in the downtown area near Fifth-Third Pavilion at Cheapside Park from 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, April 27, for the Lexington Farmers’ Market.
 
Traffic could be congested near Fifth-Third Pavilion at Cheapside Park for Central Bank Thursday Night Live, which will be held from 4:30-8 p.m. Thursday, May 2.
 
The Division of Engineering issued grading permits during the period April 12-18 for the following addresses: 3216 Orchard Grass Road, 3220 Orchard Grass Road, 3224 Orchard Grass Road, 2500 Polo Club Boulevard, 268 Somersly Place, 3805 Somersly Cove, 4520 Windstar Way, 207 West New Circle Road, 2365 Patchen Wilkes Drive, 256 Ellerslie Park Boulevard, 260 Ellerslie Park Boulevard,, 1825 Clear Lake Drive, 3761 Hardwood Road, 1854 Falling Leaves Lane, and 605 Deltino Court. Permits are issued for six months and can include some blasting.

MAJOR
Georgetown Street will be CLOSED 24 hours a day between Newtown Pike and Booker Street through Wednesday, May 1, to rebuild the Georgetown Road intersection.
 
SIGNIFICANT TRAFFIC IMPACT
The left lane of West High Street will be blocked between South Limestone Street and South Upper Street on Monday, April 29, for cable work.
 
One lane of Price Road will be blocked as needed between Florence Avenue and Georgetown Road through Wednesday, May 8, to replace utility poles.
 
Shropshire Avenue will be CLOSED at the railroad crossing between East Loudon Avenue and East Seventh Street on Monday, April 29, and Tuesday, April 30, for maintenance work on the crossing.
 
One lane at a time of West Fourth Street will be blocked as needed between Henry Street and Newtown Pike through Wednesday, May 1, to rebuild the Georgetown Street intersection.
 
The right lane of Winchester Road will be blocked between Dayton Avenue and Liberty Road through Friday, May 3, for utility work.
 
DeRoode Street will be CLOSED between Versailles Road and McKinley Street 24 hours a day through December 31, for work on the Newtown Pike extension project. Motorists can access the neighborhood from Merino Street to McKinley Street to Byars Alley.
 
MODERATE TRAFFIC IMPACT
A portion of Carlisle Avenue will be blocked between Bryan Avenue and Oak Hill Drive 24 hours a day through Wednesday, May 1, to install a culvert.
 
Clays Mill Road will be blocked between Cromwell Way and Merrimac Drive through Friday, May 17, for construction work. Inbound traffic will be diverted to the center lane.
 
Lanes of Locust Avenue will be blocked as needed between Oak Hill Drive and Bryan Avenue through Friday, May 31, for utility work.
 
The right lane of Maple Avenue will be blocked at York Street through Wednesday, May 1, for utility work.
 
The right lane of Maryland Avenue will be blocked at Jefferson Street through Tuesday, April 30, for utility work.
 
Magoffin Avenue will be CLOSED at the railroad crossing between East Loudon Avenue and East Seventh Street on Wednesday, May 1, and Thursday, May 2, for maintenance on the railroad crossing.
 
One lane of Race Street will be blocked at East Fourth Street from Monday, April 29, through Monday, May 6, for utility work.
 
The right lane of South Ashland Avenue will be blocked at East High Street through Monday, April 29, for utility work.
