KY Cold Case—Unsolved Murder, Arlene Grubbs

kycoldcase02KENTUCKY (2/14/12) — The Kentucky State Police (KSP) investigates criminal activity across the entire Commonwealth of Kentucky, and, in many instances, the information provided by individual citizens allows law enforcement officials to make important breakthroughs in difficult cases.

With this in mind, members of the KSP Post 3 in Bowling Green, KY are requesting help from the public in resolving the murder of western Kentucky resident and area hunter, Arlene Grubbs.

Mr. Grubbs was located in Horse Cave, KY on January 12th, 2002.

As the KSP reports, Mr. Grubbs was last seen leaving his residence on an ATV. Evidence collected in the ongoing investigation suggests that Mr. Grubbs was traveling to an established hunting area nearby. While at the location, Mr. Grubbs was fatally wounded via a single gunshot.

Mr. Grubbs was discovered by a team of searchers later that same day. Once on the scene of the crime, searchers also found that Mr. Grubbs’ ATV had been stolen.

At this time, officials with the KSP are requesting help from the community or anyone who might have information regarding this case. Anyone with any additional information is encouraged to contact Lt. Shannon West or Sgt. Todd Combs via email ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
