Governor Beshear Orders Flags to Half-staff on June 15

military sissonFRANKFORT, Ky. (6/14/13) – Gov. Steve Beshear has directed that flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff on Saturday, June 15, 2013, in honor of a Fort Campbell soldier who died while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
 
According to the Department of Defense, 2nd Lt. Justin L. Sisson, 23, of Phoenix, Ariz. died June 3 in Tsamkani, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when his unit was attacked by a suicide vehicle-borne improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky.
 
Funeral services for 2nd Lt. Sisson will held on June 15 at 10 a.m. Central time at the Church of the Resurrection in Leawood, Kan. Interment will follow at Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, Kan. Gov. Beshear encourages individuals, businesses, organizations and government agencies to join in this tribute.
