OPD and DEA Make Tri-State Drug Bust

 

WESTERN KY (11/24/11) - The Owensboro Police Department Street Crimes Unit, along with several other agencies, including the DEA, has been investigating a drug related case for over one year. The case involves the importation of multiple pounds of Methamphetamine into the tri-state area.

Numerous search warrants have been executed. Over $130,000 in cash and a large amount of methamphetamine has been seized throughout the investigation. Multiple arrests have been made in this case.

This investigation involved the cooperation of agencies in Kentucky and Indiana, and has been successful in dismantling a major Methamphetamine drug trafficking operation.

The investigation is ongoing but the following arrests have been released to the public.

Charges: Trafficking In A Controlled Substance 1st Degree/1st offense (or = 2 grams Methamphetamine) – Class C Felony

Christopher Cowan
4877 Highway 105
Hardinsburg, KY. 40143

Charges: Trafficking In a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense (or = 2 grams of Methamphetamine) – Class C Felony, and Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon – Class D Felony
