boilwaterMADISONVILLE, KY (3/22/12) – Due to a water main break in the Chickasaw area, residents may have experienced no or low water pressure today, March 22, 2012, until the emergency repairs were completed.

Residents in the following areas are affected and are now under a precautionary boil water advisory due to the repairs made on the water main:

•McLaughlin/Princeton Road, west of Madison Avenue and south of Oak Street
•Chickasaw Subdivision
•Lakewood Subdivision
•Osborne Lane
•Legion Drive
•All side streets that intersect with Princeton Road
•South Main Street, south of Market Place
•Country Club area
•Wesco area
•McLeod Lane
•Buckner Ridge
•Forest Acres Subdivision
•Grapevine area from the railroad bridge at Hayes Avenue south.

If you have questions about whether you are in the boil water area, please call the Water Distribution Department at 270-824-2140.

Water that is to be consumed should be heated to a rolling boil for 3 to 5 minutes. Ice makers should be turned off until the boil water advisory has been lifted. Ice that is already in the ice maker is ok to use.

When the bacteria testing process is complete the results will be announced by the City of Madisonville via our local media outlets and posted on the city’s website and Facebook page. The testing process takes 24 hours to complete.
