Madisonville Police Department Emergency Response Ranks 3rd in State

mpdMADISONVILLE, KY (8/30/12) – The Madisonville Police Department (MPD) Emergency Response Team is honored to announce a very significant achievement.

According to MPD officials, the team competed in the Kentucky Tactical Officers Associations annual competition from August 19 through August 21. During this intense three day competition, ERT/SWAT teams from law enforcement agencies across the state completed hostage rescue, warrant service, critical thinking and physical fitness courses. These events tested shooting skills, teamwork, tactics and fitness.

At the conclusion of these rigorous events, the Madisonville Police Department was awarded and ranked 3rd in the statewide competition.

Madisonville Police Departments ERT is a full-service full-response team dedicated to providing immediate response to the citizens of Madisonville and Hopkins County as a whole. This level of dedication and response allows for quick deployment in the event of serious crisis situations without a delay of waiting for resources from other law enforcement agencies.

According to MPD Lieutenant/Public Information Officer Robert Carter, “It is with these thoughts in mind that the Madisonville Police Department strives to continue to make a positive difference.”
