GVFire2nd500

HOPKINS COUNTY, KY (12/8/11) – On Thursday, Dec. 8, in the morning hours, the Grapevine Fire Department responded to a report of a possible house fire at 150 West Kentucky Road.

SurfKY Reporters were on the scene as Grapevine, Earlington and Morton’s Gap Fire Departments partnered to battle the blaze. The residence was completely in flames at the time of arrival.

Though the fire departments quickly extinguished the flames, the house was almost completely destroyed by the fire.

According to a nearby witness, the homeowner was asleep at the time the blaze began. The homeowner awoke and smelled smoke. There was another individual in the home at the time, a young male, sleeping on the couch in the living room area. The homeowner alerted the male and the home was evacuated without injuries.

Along with the home, a truck parked outside of the residence was also destroyed by the fire. The neighbor’s home received some minor damage in the form of siding that had been slightly melted from the heat.

At this time, the cause of the fire is undetermined.

EMS Services and Kentucky Utilities were also on the scene.
