Worldwide Photo Walk in Greenville

photo walk horseMUHLENBERG COUNTY, KY (10/18/12) - The 100+ year old Muhlenberg County courthouse was the center of attention when Greenville hosted a photo walk, as a part of the annual Scott Kelby Worldwide Photo Walk. The Worldwide Photo Walk is known as the largest social photography event in the world.

Around twenty participants met on the courthouse steps in Greenville, the county seat for Muhlenberg County, on Saturday, October 13, at 8:00 AM. After a group photo, the participants heard from Greenville Tourism Director Beth Newman, State Representative Brent Yonts, and the photo walk leader, Dr. Rennan Quijano. Participants learned about some of the history of Greenville as well as examples of areas of interest.

The Greenville Tourism Commission sponsored the event, provided lunch and hosted a photo contest where cash prizes will be awarded. Submitted photos will be on display in a special exhibit at the Duncan Center Museum and Art Gallery, during the month of January 2013.

A separate contest will be held in the Worldwide Photo Walk. Walk Leaders will choose a winning photo by October 29. Contests will include Grand Prize, Top 10 Finalists, People's Choice Awards, City Walk Winners, and more.
