Wrong Number Ends with Drug Arrest

arrest fordCENTRAL CITY, Ky. (11/22/13) — Text messages sent to the wrong number has resulted in a drug arrest of a Central City man.

Kentucky State Police Detecitve Brandon McPherson began an investigation after receiving information that a suspect had sent text messages to the wrong number attempting to sell pills. KSP arranged a meeting with the suspect at approximately 10:51 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 21 in the IGA parking lot in Central City.

McPherson charged Steven D. Ford, 21, with second degree trafficking controlled substance, first offense.

To anonymously report any type of suspected illegal drug activity, citizens can call the KSP toll-free drug tip hotline, 1 (800) DOPE-TIP. The hotline is answered 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
