accident glass 300BEECHMONT, Ky. (8/19/14) — A Drakesboro woman was injured Monday, Aug. 18, when a tree fell in front of her vehicle as she drove along Kentucky 246 near Beechmont.

According to a Kentucky State Police report, Sandra Cather of Drakesboro was driving a 2010 Dodge Caliber north on Kentucky 246, when a large tree fell into her path, striking the vehicle and causing her to lose control.

The vehicle then traveled approximately 180 feet in a ditch after colliding with the tree. It came to rest in the ditch, the report said.

Cather was transported to Muhlenberg Community Hospital by Muhlenberg County EMS.

Trooper Jeff McWhorter investigated the collision. Beechmont Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
