Owensboro Hiring for Park-Keeper/Maintenance Helper in Ben Hawes Park

NOW HIRING OWENSBORO 300OWENSBORO, KY (3/8/12) – The city of Owensboro is currently seeking someone to fill the position of Park-Keeper with the following qualifications.
 
JOB OVERVIEW: Resides in and maintains Ben Hawes Park and the park-keeper residence throughout the year, and performs general labor and maintenance duties for other grounds, facilities, and equipment. Cleans and opens shelters for reservations; Supplies minimum security for park grounds, facilities, and properties; Operates vehicles, tractors, and other equipment; Mows and trims grass; Maintains athletic facilities, parking areas, playgrounds, archery range, soap box derby track, walking trails, bike trails, and other park amenities as the park develops, to ensure they are in proper condition for safe public use.
 
QUALIFICATIONS: At time of application, requires High School diploma or GED, OR a minimum 3 months work-related experience as a Laborer or a similar position OR equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in welding, carpentry, plumbing, equipment operations, or spray work, and Valid KY Pesticide License preferred. Valid Driver’s License required. CDL, Class B or higher, required immediately after hire. First Aid and CPR certification required upon employment. Excellent benefits.
