'High Voltage' Hosts Cheer and Dance Competition on Home Court

Valentine Cheer_and_DanceMADISONVILLE, Ky. (1/16/2013) – Hopkins County Central High School (HCCHS) hosted the 2013 Valentine Classic Cheer and Dance Competition this past Sat., Jan. 12 in the HCCHS gymnasium. SurfKY News informed the community of the event in an article posted on Jan. 10.

The High Voltage Dance Team at HCCHS boasts numerous regional, state, and national awards in several categories and is an exemplary host for such an event. Along with the Cheer and Dance Competition, HCCHS and supporters set up merchandise tables with t-shirts, candy, cakes, and more to raise money for High Voltage to attend the 2013 national competition.

Area middle schools, high schools, Junior Varsity, Pee-Wee, and all-star teams as well as Muhlenberg County schools and competitors from Lou’s Academy and Training Center of Hopkinsville competed in various cheer and dance divisions that began at 11 a.m.

The cheer competition was held first, ending at around 1 p.m. followed by the award ceremony for the cheer portion. The Dance Competition followed and concluded around 4 p.m. The crowd was enthusiastic throughout, and the teams’ coaches gleamed with pride for their girls. The gym was full of support and school spirit, and HCCHS sends out their gratitude to all event sponsors as well.

For the list of all of the division winners, contact Vickie Fox at Hopkins County Central High School at (270) 825-6133.
