Chamber Welcomes Penny’s Vapor Nook

MADISONVILLE, Ky. (8/23/13) – The Madisonville – Hopkins County Chamber of Commerce welcomed their newest member, Penny Eden of Penny’s Vapor Nook, located on 18 North Main Street Madisonville.

Penny started this business because her parents had stopped smoking and wanted to help give them a better opportunity to quit smoking cigarettes completely.

“It’s been over a year… my mom is now down to zero nicotine and my dad doesn’t have to use his nebulizer anymore,” said Penny Eden. “I’m 43, they have been smoking my whole life and they have tried to quit several times but nothing worked… but this has helped them out a lot.”

According to the United States Federal Trade Commission a pack of full flavor cigarettes can contain between 14-32mg of nicotine depending on the brand. Nicotine contents of tobacco cigarettes have dwindled down over the past 30 years from an average of 1.35mg per cigarette to an average of 0.90mg per cigarette by 1997.

Most electronic cigarettes contain much higher amounts of nicotine because they aren’t meant to be smoked in one sitting. Most electronic cigarettes last approximately 60-80 puffs, which is equivalent to 6 traditional cigarettes.

“I can order 24-36mg of nicotine but I don’t… I order 18, 12, 6 and 0mgs,” said Eden. “It’s very diverse. If you want to quit smoking, you can quit smoking. If you want to lower the nicotine, then you can lower the nicotine. Even if you don’t lower it, it is still better than smoking a real cigarette. I can order all kinds of flavors. Normally if you smoke a pack a day, one of the e-liquids will last you a week.”
