HCHS Earns Second At Regional Science Olympiad, Advances to State

Henderson County High School 300OWENSBORO, Ky. (3/28/13) – The Henderson County High School Science Olympiad Team placed second overall at the regional competition on Saturday, March 23 at Madisonville Community College in Madisonville.
 
The team took first place in Astronomy, Chemistry Lab, Circuit Lab and Dynamic Planet categories. The team took second place in Anatomy and Physiology, Gravity Vehicle, Rocks and Minerals, and Technical Problem Solving categories and 3rd place in Elastic Launched Glider, Fermi, and Forestry categories.

Team members included Josh Miller – senior; Lacey Payne – senior; Jesse Tapp – junior; Kelric Knight – sophomore; Alec Watson – sophomore; Robert Sauer – sophomore; Kristin Knight – senior; Shelby Anderson – senior; and Jack Hardy – sophomore.
 
The Henderson County High School Science Olympiad Team will compete at the state competition at Western Kentucky University on Saturday, April 27.
