U.S. 41-A in Henderson to Close South of Canoe Creek Bridge for Railroad Crossing Work

RAILROAD crossing 300HENDERSON, Ky. (4/9/13) – At the request of Kentucky Transportation Cabinet engineers, CSX Railroad plans to close U.S. 41-Alternate at the south edge of Henderson on Wednesday, April 10, to smooth out the rail crossing at US 41-A mile point 11.965.

CSX plans to close US 41-Alternate at about 8 a.m., Wednesday after the morning school bus run. The roadway is expected to remain closed until about 2 p.m. on Wednesday.

The closure on US 41-Alternate is just south of the Canoe Creek Bridge between U.S. 60 and The KY 425 Henderson Bypass.

KYTC engineers have asked CSX to extend pavement on each side of the rail crossing to meet highway standards.

U.S. 41-A northbound traffic should detour via KY 425 to U.S. 60 East to US 41-A. U.S. 41-A southbound traffic should detour via U.S. 60 West to the KY 425 Henderson Bypass to U.S. 41-A.
