KENTUCKY (4/23/13) – Here in Kentucky, so far, the 2013 Spring Turkey Season has been tremendous! Local hunters have been blessed with great weather, and several hunters have reported that they are having good luck.
With that said, there is still nearly another full week or more to hunt. It could very well be the record harvest year for the state of Kentucky.
In the slideshow below, you will find several good longbeards that local hunters have taken. We would like to congratulate everyone on their turkey harvest this year, and thank you for being safe while afield.
Remember, a successful hunt is a safe hunt!
Good luck to the rest of the turkey hunters for the spring season. It is surely the most exciting adventure in Kentucky…the King of Spring!
FISH OF THE WEEK
This week we are featuring two local anglers as our Fish of the Week winners. First, we have Suzanne Graham with several Crappie taken from a pond on Peabody Wildlife Management area in Muhlenberg while on a fishing trip with her husband.
Next up, we have TJ Ward. TJ made a trip to Muhlenberg County from Benton, Kentucky, fishing a local tributary off of the Green River. TJ caught this good cat and very nice Stripe, but also took a number of other big catches, such as Smallmouth Bass, Crappie, Largemouth Bass and Bluegill. For the whole trip, TJ got 44 fish!
Congratulations to Suzanne and TJ for your successful weekend of fishing!
