“We had a solid start to the tournament today and I'm proud of this group,” said Kentucky head coach Golda Johansson Borst. “You never really know what to expect when you have three new players, but I think they stepped up and set a mark for their expectations for this season.”
After a double bogey on the first hole, sophomore Sarah Harris regrouped to shoot an even-par round of 72. Harris will go into the second round sitting in a tie for seventh.
Freshman Alessandra Walker recorded a three-over 75 on Monday. After posting three bogeys through her first seven holes, Walker strung together 11-straight pars to finish the round.
