<p>He was born on December 8, 1936 in Madisonville to the late Ruth Roosevelt Cates and Harry Davis Cates. He retired as a coal miner from Island Creek Coal Co. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America and a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church in Madisonville.</p>
<p>In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Louise Cates.</p>

<p>HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. Martha Waller, 90, of Madisonville, KY, passed away Monday, May 20, 2013 at Baptist Health in Madisonville.</p>
<p>She was born January 20, 1923 in Sturgis, KY to the late Lacey Horne and Della Holt Horne. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Morris Waller, five sisters, and three brothers.</p>
<p>Mrs. Waller was a homemaker. She attended Second Baptist Church in Madisonville, and liked to knit and crotchet.</p>
<p>She is survived by one son, Dave (Brenda) Waller of Greenville, KY; one granddaughter, Traci (Jarrod) Bennett of Pembroke, KY; and two great grandchildren, Kate Bennett and Lane Bennett.</p>

(5/22/13) – Sen. Rand Paul today applauded the U.S. House of Representatives for passing the Freedom to Fish Act, which protects fishing access at the tailwaters of dams along the Cumberland River.
