MADISONVILLE, KY (9/11/12) – On Tuesday, Sept. 10, the Madisonville Fire Department (MFD) reported two instances of activity within the Madisonville city limits.
 
At 7:42 AM, MFD received an alarm from Central Dispatch for Medical Center Ambulance Service needing assistance at 641 Baxter Ave. Upon arrival M.C.A.S. was on scene. Fire crew helped in loading and packing one female patient that had fallen and could not get up. After loading the patient the scene was left with M.C.A.S. and the fire unit returned to station.
 
At approximately 12:14 PM, MFD received an alarm from Central Dispatch for a vehicle accident with injuries at the intersection of Nebo Road and Highway 1034 (Rose creek Road). Crews arrived on scene and found three vehicles involved in a rear end collision. The extrication equipment was used to open the rear doors of a passenger van owned by Community Alternative to gain access to two passengers that were trapped in the vehicle. Four of the fourteen passengers in the two vans involved were transported to Regional Medical Center by ambulance for treatment. The remaining occupants were transported by privately owned vehicles to RMC for further evaluation. After the vehicles were removed from the highway, the scene was deemed safe and call crews returned to station.
