BOWLING GREEN, KY - Jean Garmon of Bowling Green passed away at 9:40 A.M. on Thursday, September 13 at The Hospice Center of Southern KY.
The Allen County native was employed at Norman's Department Store and Western KY University for 20 years and 4 months. She enjoyed her many flower gardens and roses and shared them with her friends. She was a member of Three Springs Baptist Church and was saved in 1942 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Allen County. She was the daughter of the late Bozell Mills Landrum an Stella Evans Landrum and the wife of the late Burton Garmon.
She was preceded in death by a brother E.C. Landrum and two sisters Yvonne Reynolds and Jo Ann Norris. Other survivors include a sister, Alene Gibbs of Indianapolis, IN, a brother Billy Mills Landrum of Lafayette, TN and several nieces and nephews. Two Grandchildren and three Great Grandchildren. A special Step-Son, Joe W. Garmon and his wife Jeanie of Crossville, TN and another stepson Jack Garmon and his wife Judy of Bowling Green.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home with burial at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Allen County. Visitation will be on Friday, September 14, 2012 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorials be made to The Hospice Center of Southern KY, 5872 Scottsville Road, Bowling Green, KY 42104.
