BOWLING GREEN, KY - Martha Stice Houchin, 64, of Bowling Green, passed away Thursday, September 20, 2012 in Orlando, FL.
She was a daughter of the late Everett and Mildred Stice of Brownsville. She had a 42 year career in nursing that began at The Medical Center of Bowling Green and retired as an instructor and administrator in the WKU Associate Degree of Nursing Program. Her deepest love was for her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed spending her time reading on the deck at the lake, teaching expectant parent and nursing classes, cooking everyone's favorite meals, as well as encouraging and helping people in any way.
Survivors include her husband, Allen Houchin, and three daughters, Staci Nash, Sarah Moody (Billy), and Lindsey Houchin, all of Bowling Green; six grandchildren, Will Houchin, Presley Nash, Dalton, Dakota, Denver, and Durham Moody; one sister, Naomi Fuller (Roger) of Coldwater, MI, and two brothers, Jimmie Stice (Ruth) of Glasgow, and Billie Stice of Brownsville and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life will be held Tuesday, September 25 at 11 a.m. at J.C. Kirby & Son Broadway Chapel. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Monday, September 24 at the funeral home.
In memory of Martha, the family encourages you to celebrate her joyful life by planting lillies, daffodils, or tulips as annual reminders of the happiness she rooted in her friends and family.
