CADIZ, KY - Nina Clark Cameron, 103, Lexington, KY, formerly Cadiz, KY, passed away Sun. Oct. 14, 2012 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, KY. As a youth at Casky, she was a very active member of Casky Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Hopkinsville High and Business School and Western KY Junior College. Her teaching career began at Casky Elementary in Christian County where she taught all 8 grades. She was a retired school teacher whose teaching career continued for 23 years in Trigg County when she married a Trigg County farmer. Nina loved farm life, therefore was a helpmate to her husband. She was an 18 year member of Trigg County Retired Teachers, a member of Kentucky Retired Teachers, Wallonia Homemakers Club, a member of Mt. Zion Methodist Church where she has held many offices. Upon moving to Lexington, KY in 1990, she joined the Centenary Methodist Church Senior Citizens Group, the Fidelis Sunday School Class, the United Methodist Women and became an affiliate member of the Centenary United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Cameron was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years; Jesse B. Cameron who passed away March 19, 1998; one granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn Cameron; two in-laws, Harry A. Baker and Anita Hughes Cameron; three brothers, and six sisters. She is survived by two daughters, Alice C. Baker (Harry A. deceased) of Lexington, KY and Frances C. Taylor (Barr) of Greenville, NC; one son, Jesse M. Cameron (Anita Hughes, deceased) of Trigg County, KY; five grandchildren, Gloria Cerzosie (Joe), Lexington, KY; Sheila Burton (Kevin), Hoover, AL, Kimberly Hunt (Todd), Gary NC, Todd Taylor (Jennifer), Charlotte, NC, and Mark Taylor (Erica), Richmond, VA. Also surviving are eight great grandchildren, one sister, Jean Wimpy, of Christian County; and special friends, Mary Hedberg, Joy Penticuff, and Pauline Edmons.
Visitation will be 4-7 pm Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd., Lexington, KY. Also, visitation will be held from 10-11am, Friday, October 19, 2012 at Goodwin Funeral Home, Cadiz, KY with services at 11am. Burial will follow in Siloam Cemetery, Trigg County, KY. Nina was a native of Christian County, Casky, KY. Born Aug. 20, 1909, the daughter of the late J. Milton and Lillian Ferguson Clark. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Methodist Children’s Home of Kentucky, P.O. Box 749, Versailles, KY 40383-9982.
