Trailing 12-9 at the first break, Webster erupted with 26-point second quarter to earn a 35-22 advantage at intermission.
Taylor Turner was 'the man' in the run, scoring 10 of his game-high 24 points to pace the attack. Fellow junior Jacob Scott also found the basket in the first half, scoring 14 points, including a pair of 3-pointers. He finished with 16 points. Trey Tapp added seven of his 11 points in the second quarter.
The Purples fought back in the third period, out-scoring Webster 14-11 and trimming the lead to 10 points, 46-36. But that would be as close as they could get as both offenses sputtered in the final eight minutes and managed just 10 points each on the scoreboard.
Derrick Douglas added four points in the victory while Hunter Little knocked down one field goal.
