Local MD and owner of the Northview Plaza property, Dr. Bret Wittmer, spoke with iSurf News before the ground breaking and explained that the 18,500 sq. ft. space would house both a Cold Stone Creamery ice-cream restaurant as well as an original eatery called Bella’s Little Italy.
Even after both of the establishments have been completed, Dr. Wittmer explained that the strip-mall style facility will have 10-12,000 sq. ft. of available space open to other potential businesses as well.
After brief speeches from Madisonville’s Mayor Will Cox, Chamber President Harriett Whittaker, and Dr. Whitmer—all of whom endorsed the project’s economic potential—the traditional “golden ground breaking shovels” were gouged into the dirt and the future of Madisonville’s Northview Plaza was made official.
