With well over 1 million votes cast across the state of Kentucky, several new candidates have stepped into national, state, and local positions alongside incumbent victors from both the Republican and Democratic Parties alike.
Following the election, iSurf News spoke with Republican 10th District State Representative winner, Ben Waide, to find out how he felt about his success.
“It’s a really humbling experience,” said Waide. “I appreciate everyone who came out and voted for me.”
As far as what his plans are for the future, Waide said, “We’re going to take our core values all the way to Washington.”
iSurf News also spoke with reelected Democratic State Senator, Jerry Rhoads, who also gave his thoughts on the win tonight, stating that, “I am very grateful for all of the support I received throughout the district. I consider it an endorsement of my record, especially in a tough political environment."
“We worked hard to run on record and inform voters about our plans for the future while being positive,” said Rhoads. "I look forward to serving my district."
Though iSurf News attempted to contact other winners following the elections, we have yet to receive return calls. However, it is completely possible that the victors are looking forward to taking a 1 night break to breathe.
