HOPKINS COUNTY, KY—At 11:30am today, November 16th, members of both the Hopkins County-Madisonville Chamber of Commerce and Occasions Gift Shop hosted an official ribbon cutting ceremony.

Located directly across from what was once Bartholomew’s restaurant in downtown Madisonville, Occasions Gift Shop offers a variety of gifts as well items you would purchase for yourself. Ranging from affordable kids’ toys, handmade candles, high quality dishware, custom paintings, and much, much more, the inventory at Occasions Gift Shop is poised to accommodate most anyone’s tastes or budget. In addition, the shop also has many items and/or services available that aren’t on display.

As owner Lauren Cobb explained to iSurf News in a past interview, ““We’re trying to carry items that you can’t buy at Wal-Mart and K-Mart, and if you can’t find something that you’re looking for in the store, we can order it for you most of the time. We have a ton of inventory that you can’t even see, and that’s something that I want people to know—we offer more than what you see in the store. We don’t go by retail price either. Everything we sell is marked down a lot less than we’re suggested to sell it for, because I decided that if I’m not going to pay that much for it, I’m not going to have my customer pay that much for it either. So, whether we’re taking a loss or not, or not making as much money as we could off a product, we’re selling our stuff for what we’d pay for it.”

So, if you’re looking for that perfect gift, or just something original for yourself, and just don’t want to buy the same old stuff at higher costs, swing by Occasions Gift Shop in downtown Madisonville at 56 South Main St. (adjacent to Happy’s Office Supplies and directly across from the old Bartholomew’s restaurant building). In addition, you may contact them by phone at (270) 452-2236 during business hours (9am-5pm, Mon-Sat) or visit their fan page on Facebook.
