HOPKINS COUNTY, KY—Though Avon & More by Christie has been open since the beginning of September 2010, members the Madisonville-Hopkins County Chamber of Commerce helped in making the business an official part of our community today, November 30th, by co-hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony.

As owner Christie Hart explained, Avon & More is aimed at catering to the needs of women, yet also has some products for men. Though Christie has been an Independent Sales Associate for Avon for around three years, it wasn’t until the last few months that the idea of opening an actual business location came about.

“There’s not a local Avon store around here,” said Christie, “so that’s a lot of where the idea came from.”

The amiable owner also explained to iSurf News what the location offers to the public, stating that, “We have a massage therapist on site and we’ll probably have our tanning beds ready for use very soon. Of course, we have a variety of Avon products—and if we don’t have something, we can have it delivered; we have a clothing line; we have handbags and wallets; we have maternity clothes and plus sizes; candles; hair bows; local artwork; and more. Basically, we have everything for the woman. We do have a small line of men’s cologne, too.”

Another original part of Avon & More by Christie is their “waterfall” display, which adds to the overall relaxed and informal feel of the shop.

“We have a lot of fashionable clothes at reasonable prices,” said Christie, “and we’re definitely unique.”

Avon & More by Christie is located adjacent to Country Cupboard at 575 McCoy Avenue and can be reached by phone at (270) 452-2732. The shop is open Monday-Friday from 10am-7pm, on Saturday from 9am-6pm, and on Sunday from 1-5pm. To find more information, visit Christie’s Avon page at www.youravon.com/christiehart.
