MADISONVILLE, Ky. (4/22/13) –On Saturday, April 20, Madisonville Police Department (MPD) Officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of McLaughlin and South Main Street.
According to MPD Officers, 75-year-old Livingston Baker, of Madisonville, was traveling westbound on McLaughlin, with the intent to cross South Main Street, while David Jameson, 43, of Madisonville was traveling southbound on South Main Street. MPD reports that Jameson disregarded the red stop light and was struck by Baker on the driver’s side, with his front bumper.
Jameson told police officials that he was distracted by a dropped cigarette and did not note that the light was red.
Baker was treated on scene by Med Center Ambulance Service and was taken to Baptist Health for possible injuries.
Unit 1 did not request medical attention.
Jameson’s vehicle was removed from the scene by his personal trailer and Baker’s vehicle was towed by Madisonville Towing.
