CSXHOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. (11/7/17) — CSX Railroad is continuing highway, road and street closures for rail crossing upgrades at several locations through Hopkins County on the following schedule:

Close at about 5 p.m. today — to reopen about 5 p.m. Wednesday
Will Lane in Hopkins County – Local residents have been notified

Closure starts today — for about three days
Kentucky 813/Cross Street in Mortons Gap in Hopkins County — detour via site streets
Ed Brackett Road near Mortons Gap in Hopkins County

Closure starts Wednesday — For about three days
Bell Crossing Road in Earlington area of Hopkins County

Closure tentative for Thursday — for about three days
West Moss Avenue in Earlington/Hopkins County

Closure tentative for Friday — for about three days
Victoria Hill/Moreland Avenue in Madisonville
West Jagoe Street in Madisonville

Closure tentative for Saturday, Nov 11 — for about three days
West Broadway in Madisonville
West Sugg Street in Madisonville

Closure tentative for Sunday — for about three days

To try to speed some of the work, the CSX crews are working on a nine days on and five days off schedule.

CSX has indicated this tentative schedule may change from time to time. This work list is provided with the hope it will allow families who live near these crossings to be prepared for approaching closures.

CSX has indicated they will try to avoid closing adjacent crossings when possible to allow appropriate alternate crossing points.

CSX and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will attempt to provide appropriate schedule updates as the work timeline firms up.
