Events general blue 300MAPLE MOUNT, Ky. (11/6/17) — The following list of events are included in the Ursuline Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph December calendar.

"The Mystery of Christmas" Dec. 5
The next monthly Evening with an Ursuline dinner and presentation will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 5. “The Mystery of Christmas” will be presented by Ursuline Sister Mary Matthias Ward. If we take Christmas to heart and get past the anxieties in arranging for gifts and parties, we will rediscover ourselves. We will experience a birth in ourselves just like the one described in the Gospel. It will be a celebration of both the birth of Jesus and the birth of our own soul. The dinner and presentation is from 5 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. at Mount Saint Joseph Conference and Retreat Center (located 12 miles west of Owensboro, Ky., on Hwy. 56).  Advent Day of Prayer Dec. 9
This Advent Day of Prayer will prepare us for this holy time of waiting. It will take place on Saturday, Dec. 9 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at Mount Saint Joseph Conference and Retreat Center (located 12 miles west of Owensboro, Ky., on Hwy. 56). The event will be led by Monsignor Bernard Powers who holds a master’s degree in spirituality. Eucharistic Adoration Dec. 10
The Ursuline Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph invite the public to join them for Eucharistic Adoration on the second Sunday of each month from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., at the Motherhouse Chapel (12 miles west of Owensboro, Ky., on Hwy. 56). Adoration concludes with evening prayer. Upcoming dates are Dec. 10 and Jan. 14, 2018. The Ursuline Sisters also have Adoration that is open to the public on Fridays from 3 p.m.-5 p.m.
 
Focus on Faith with "Mary 101" Dec. 14
“Mary 101, Tradition and Influence,” by Mary Ann Zimmer is the focus of a book study at Mount Saint Joseph Conference and Retreat Center (located 12 miles west of Owensboro, Ky., on Hwy. 56). The class will meet on Thursday, Dec. 14 from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The study is led by Ursuline Sister Ann McGrew. Advent Evening with Bishop Dec. 14

The event will be led by Bishop William Medley of the Diocese of Owensboro. Quilt Club tickets still available
Sign up by Nov. 30 to get your name into the new Quilt of the Month Club drawings at Mount Saint Joseph. The drawings take place on the first Friday of each month.
