gold arrestsDAVIESS COUNTY, Ky. (12/6/17) — Two men were charged with trafficking in meth and a third man was charged with meth possession yesterday while police were serving warrants.

Daviess County Sheriff’s Office deputies were serving warrants at 10:04 a.m. for two Hughes Avenue, Owensboro men when they reported seeing another man apparently smoking a meth pipe. After a search of the residence, police said a large amount of apparent methamphetamine, scales, baggies, pipes and rolling papers were discovered.

Deputies also reported finding counterfeit cash in the residence.

DCSO charged Joshua D. Clark, 39 of Hughes Avenue with drug paraphernalia – buy/possess, tampering with physical evidence, first-degree possession of a controlled substance/meth and on two warrants for failure to appear.

Benjamin A. Canary, 30 of Hughes Avenue was charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance/meth, first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, drug paraphernalia – buy/possess, possession of marijuana, tampering with physical evidence and on three warrants for contempt of court.

Cody D. Smathers, 22 of Park Drive, Owensboro was charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance/meth, first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, drug paraphernalia – buy/possess, carrying a concealed weapon and on two warrants for failure to appear.

All three were lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center. Canary is being held on a total of $50,000 bonds; Clark is being held on a total of $10,200 bonds; and, Smathers is being held on a total of $15,500 bonds.
