Owensboro Theatre Workshop Rings in New Year with New Productions

theater work oboroOWENSBORO, Ky. (12/27/12) – Theatre Workshop of Owensboro (TWO) has never shied away from serious subject matter. The workshop's first production for 2013 is no exception.
 
"Rabbit Hole", written by David Lindsay-Abaire, received the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 2007.

The play focuses on how a family deals with major loss, after a small child is accidentally killed. The Broadway production also scored a Tony Award for Cynthia Nixon for Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Play.
 
Nixon is best remembered for her portrayal of Miranda in the HBO series "Sex and The City". The play was nominated for several other Tony awards as well, and a movie adaptation released in 2010 starred Nicole Kidmann.
 
The Theater Workshop of Owensboro production will be presented February 1st through the 17th, at the Trinity Centre, at 407 West Fifth Street, in downtown Owensboro.
 
Also coming in the New Year, the workshop will present "The Crucible" on May 15th through May 23rd at the TWO Opryhouse (formerly Goldie's Opryhouse) on Frederica Street. This modern classic written by Arthur Miller is a dramatization of the Salem witch trials that took place in 1692.
 
"Dearly Departed", a hilarious comedy about a backwards Southern family, comes to the Trinity Centre April 26th through May 12th.
