drug arrests1 300HENDERSON COUNTY, Ky. (7/14/17) — Tips at Henderson County Jail led to the discovery of drugs allegedly brought into the facility by a federal inmate.

Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force Detective Bill Mills reported jail deputies had received information about the illegal controlled substances, which prompted an investigation.

Jailer Amy Brady along with detectives from the task force “located a large amount of illegal prescription pills” at the jail Monday listed as Xanax and marijuana.

Authorities charged 37-year-old Jason Howard Williams of Nashville, Tennessee Monday with two counts of first-degree promoting contraband.

In another report, PNTF investigated a complaint at the Ramada Inn off U.S. 41 North in Henderson this week.

Henderson County deputies and task force detectives responded to a call late Monday night about a strong marijuana odor at the back portion of the motel, where a woman told authorities she was running hot water in the shower to mask the aroma, according to the report.

During the investigation, the task force revealed Taylor Marie Alexander, 22 of Henderson, turned over two large bags of a substance believe to be marijuana, a box of sandwich bags, cash and a set of digital scales. Detectives noted a man’s clothing and shoes were seen inside the room, though Alexander claimed to be alone.

Alexander was cited to court on charges of trafficking in marijuana (less than 8 ounces) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
