hendersoncountychoollogo maroonHENDERSON, Ky. (10/30/17) — Henderson County High School Teen Community Emergency Response Team will certify 50 students Friday, with an accident simulation.

The simulation will be held on the campus of Henderson County High School in the back student parking lot from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.

The simulation will be centered around a vehicle accident and will include students participating as victims of a crash and the use of emergency personnel. Students who are being certified will complete fire safety, search and rescue, cribbing, and medical operations.

The goal of the simulation is to provide chaos, distraction, and real life experience. Students will be transferred to the hospital as part of the simulation and local law enforcement, fire department, EMS, and the National Guard will all be involved in the simulation.

There will be 50 students testing for certification. The students completed a nine-week course and have the skills and knowledge to be prepared in the event of a disaster.
