cautionHENDERSON COUNTY, Ky. (11/4/17) — Kentucky Transportation Cabinet reported police are seeking a driver who damaged a recently poured section of fresh concrete along the Kentucky 425 Henderson Bypass late Friday.

Sometime between about 5:15 p.m., and about 5:30 p.m., someone drove around barricades and drove through a concrete pour site before the concrete cured, KYTC Spokesman Keith Todd reported. Kentucky State Police are trying to locate the vehicle and the driver.

The contractor had just poured the last round of concrete at the site around 3:30 p.m.. An early assessment indicates the vehicle did about $30,000 worth of damage to the newly poured concrete, highway officials said.

The contractor will be back at the site in the morning to start replacing the damaged concrete, Todd said. This extra work will mean the one lane traffic with temporary traffic signals controlling alternating flow will have to remain in place through the weekend. The contractor will then return Monday and Tuesday for concrete repairs at another location to complete the work along the Kentucky 425 Henderson Bypass.

Anyone with information about the vehicle that damaged the fresh concrete should contact KSP or the Henderson County Sheriff's Office.

Motorists who travel the Kentucky 425 Henderson Bypass through the weekend should be prepared for delays, especially during peak travel periods, Todd said.
