Fire HydrantHENDERSON, Ky. (11/9/17) — City officials announced Henderson Fire Department will do a limited test of fire hydrants along 12 streets in select areas next week.

HFD expects the testing to be completed by Wednesday, but by the end of the week at the latest.

The tests will involve only two hydrants on each of the selected streets, so the test should not have any impact on water quality. However, if a discoloration in water is noted after testing in your area, please flow your cold water taps until the water clears. The city asks that residents not flow any hot water until the discoloration has cleared. This will prevent the discolored water from entering your hot water system.

“The Henderson firefighters appreciate your patience and understanding as we perform this task,” said Daniel Hancock, HFD spokesman. He said this small test is taking place in conjunction with Henderson Water Utility.

Hydrant testing is scheduled for following streets:

• Spring Garden Road
• Klutey Park Plaza Drive
• Third Street at Alvasia Street
• Barret Boulevard at Pleasant Pointe Apartments
• Hillmont Drive
• Bellewood Drive
• South Main Street in the Jefferson Elementary area
• Bailey at Letcher Street
• Congress in Presidential Trailer Park
• Commonwealth Drive
• Turnagain Drive
• Ohio Drive
