UPDATE: HENDERSON, Ky. (11/11/17) — Henderson police have identified the victim of a fatal gunshot wound following an apparent homicide investigation Friday evening.

Illinois resident David Devin Fields, 21, was found inside a vehicle near a church after he was previously reported to have been shot at an apartment complex in Henderson.

Police say there have been no arrests made as of 10 a.m. today.

UPDATE: HENDERSON, Ky. (11/10/17) — Still no word on the identity of the man who was apparently shot this evening in Henderson. Police were still at the scene investigating after 7 p.m.

Henderson County Coroner Bruce Farmer confirmed one person is dead.

Henderson Police Department reported they are investigating the homicide that occurred at an apartment complex.

A witness said a white man was in the black Impala with a black man, who was allegedly shot. The witness also stated they drove to a parking lot near New Jerusalem Baptist Church after the shooting that happened at an apartment complex, and then the white man started screaming for help.

It appeared the individual was slumped over in the front seat of the vehicle at the scene.

His identity has not been released.

HENDERSON, Ky. (11/10/17) — A person was found shot near the area of Lawndale/Fagan Square around 5:30 p.m. today.

Henderson Police Department officers and Henderson EMS are at the scene.

An officer said the individual has a pulse, but was not breathing. A suspect has apparently left the scene.

It is unknown whether the suspect fled on foot or in a vehicle.

More information will be provided as it becomes available.
