christmas tree 2015HENDERSON, Ky. (11/29/17) — The annual "911 Gives Hope for the Holidays" toy drive is 6 a.m.-6 p.m.  Friday and Saturday at Walmart in Henderson.

Henderson Police Department Spokeswoman Jennifer Richmond reported it is the eighth year that Henderson Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Townsquare Media have teamed up for this event. This year, items will be accepted at the Henderson and Burkhardt Drive in Evansville, Indiana Walmart store locations.

Area first responders from HPD, Henderson Fire Department, Henderson County Sheriff's Office, Kentucky State Police, Henderson County Detention Center, Henderson Ambulance Service, Zion Volunteer Fire Department, and other first responders will be in attendance all weekend to collect donations 6 a.m.-6 p.m. at the Henderson Wal-Mart, Richmond said.

Toys will be sorted and delivered to Methodist Hospital and the children's wards at Deaconess Hospital, St. Vincent's Hospital, Evansville Psychiatric Children's Center, ECHO, and The Ronald McDonald House in time for Christmas.

Donations may include toys, clothing, gift certificates, and cash.

"Stop by and help us stuff as many vehicles from Henderson Chevrolet, Buick, and GMC as possible, so that area children will feel the love from our community," Richmond said.
