Hanson Family Argument Leads to Stabbing

yates arrestHANSON, KY (2/6/12) – On Feb. 5, 2012, a stabbing incident took place on Tucker Schoolhouse Road in Hanson.
 
According to Detective Matt Sanderson with the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office, a call came in to Hopkins County Central Dispatch reporting that a male and female had been fighting and the female had been stabbed. Deputies responded along with the Medical Center Ambulance Service.
 
Once on the scene, Detectives found that Laurie Yates and Jerald Yates were involved in a verbal argument that escalated to a physical altercation which led to Laurie Yates being stabbed with a knife by Jerald Yates.
 
Laurie Yates was transported to Regional Medical Center by the ambulance service. Jerald Yates was arrested, charged with Assault 1st Degree- Domestic Violence, and transported to the Hopkins County Jail. The condition of Mrs. Yates is unknown at this time.
