God’s Great Outdoor Adventures – NWTF Convention was Awesome

sportsman for christ1 300KENTUCKY (2/16/12) - Hello again folks! I hope you are having a blessed week as always. God has truly rained blessings on the Sportsmen for Christ Ministry once again this year.

We have so many upcoming announcements; we are just so blessed by our awesome God. We had a couple of helpers to tag along this year, and that worked out great. Little Miss Kira went and shot bows and bb guns after she colored a beautiful picture with my wife. Meanwhile: Peyton helped me as I met with all the sponsors and gathered door prizes for this years’ Outdoor Outreach Extravaganza to be held in July.

I had the opportunity to meet with some new sponsors as well for this upcoming year. I met with three different outdoor TV crews that are interested in coming and filming our deer hunt this fall. The title of this event is “Hunting for Hope.” We have applications available for anyone up to age 18 that has a long term disease or disability.

At this point we have about ten pieces of property for these kids to hunt on for one day this fall. If you are interested in letting a kid hunt on your farm, please let us know. We are planning a meeting with the land owners following spring turkey season to answer any questions. We encourage questions because it could be of good use of something we have not thought about.

I am also looking for a neutral location to have fellowship and a dinner if we can get it all put together. I know our awesome God is going to provide a meal and a location. I just ask everyone to pray about it along with me.

This year's event will be trial and error and we will learn from our mistakes to make next year’s even better, so please bear with us.

I also have a great announcement about the “Take a Kid Fishing” event. I met with the managers at Walmart back in the fall and again this morning. Sportsmen for Christ will be assisting Walmart in the Take A Kid Fishing Event held each year at the Madisonville Walmart location. We will give you more updates as we put everything together.

My final announcement for the day, and I am not saying a lot about this because we are doing a story on this as well. My son Dustin is scheduled to audition in Atlanta, Ga. on March 17th for the show called" The Voice."

God bless and be safe. If you put God first in your life and trust Him, He will rain showers of blessings upon you.
