Julie Hart 8 9MADISONVILLE, Ky. (8/9/17) — An Evansville woman reported going the wrong way on one-way streets in Madisonville was arrested for alleged heroin possession.

Madisonville Police Department reported seeing the driver going north on North Scott Street, ignoring the one-way sign traveling against traffic, and then turned south onto North Kentucky Avenue going the wrong way, while other drivers swerved around her vehicle.

Officer Taylor Boggs stopped the driver identified as Julie A. Hart, 37, who seemed nervous, according to the report. After consenting to a search, the officer reported seeing her stash items from her purse into a cigarette pack.

Police reported finding two needles and a package believed to contain heroin residue along with a pair of brass knuckles, other controlled substances and paraphernalia items.

Hart was charged with tampering with physical evidence, first-degree possession of a controlled substance (heroin), carrying a concealed deadly weapon, reckless driving, no insurance card, third-degree possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

She was listed as being held in Hopkins County Jail this afternoon on $2,000 cash bond.
