4448483vet ffffffMADISONVILLE, KY., — George W. Siria, 89, of Madisonville passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2017 at Baptist Health Madisonville. He was born on July 13, 1928 in Madisonville to the late Alice Elizabeth Siria and George W. Siria. George was a United States Korean War Army Veteran and was formerly a Federal Coal Mine Inspector with the Federal Department of Labor. He was a Kentucky Colonel, a lifetime member of the VFW, a member of Masonic Lodge #143 and a member of Grapevine Missionary Baptist Church in Madisonville. George was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing country music and gospel music.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Sylvia Nadine Taylor and his brother Bertham Siria.

Survivors include his wife of 34 years Linda Siria, daughter Susan Gay Alley of Hermitage, TN, sons Kent Wayne Siria and Shawn Nelson Siria both of Los Angeles, CA, 4 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews, step-daughter Jennifer Curneal and husband Tojo of Madisonville, step-son Gregory Berry of Madisonville, 7 step-grandchildren, and 6 step-great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 11am on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Grapevine Missionary Baptist Church 85 Sandcut Rd. Madisonville, KY 42431 with Dr. Clark Brown officiating and Dr. Bob Morrison assisting.

Burial to follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville with military honors being conducted graveside by 101st Airborne Division Ft. Campbell and the Hopkins County Honor Guard. Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville is in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be from 4pm until 7pm Wednesday at Harris Funeral Home and from 9am until the funeral hour Thursday at Grapevine Missionary Baptist Church.
